The scandalous Pinar Selek trial will start all over again on the 9th of February. After having been aquitted years ago we, who have followed this case from the start could hardly believe it was true when we learned this some time ago.

This trial is not about a crime, it is purely trespass to a person who has already been aquitted. The case which by now has become well known all over the world is another Turkish judicial scandal and  another sign of the regretful practis of law in many courts in this country!

PEN International through its committee for imprisoned writers, WiPC condemns this re-opening and demands that the case shall be closed immediately!
